Becky was discharged from Health South Rehabilitation Center this afternoon and returned home this evening. It's always crazy when packing up and moving and today was no exception. But it is good to have her back home!
Now that her left hip has been replaced, Becky needs to start immediately with strenuous physical therapy to strengthen and lengthen the muscles and other soft tissues in her leg and hip that have been so constricted for nearly two years. It's going to be a painful and arduous process, but to the extent is it successful, it will result in her left leg regaining normal function.
If all goes as currently planned, Becky's next surgery (to replace her right hip) will take place probably in May.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and encouragement. God shows His power and His mercy in many ways; one way He's chosen is evident in Becky's progress.

Mommy,
I'm so glad you got home well yesterday! I'm feeling a lot better than I did when I talked to you...I think it was mostly my blood sugar.
It's supposed to snow again today. Probably start around 2 or 3, and go all night. They're expecting a couple of inches to stick! Maybe this time we'll play in it for a while :)
I hope your first day home is going smoothly. You're probably glad to be back with Chester. Benjamin's still teaching Monte to "speak," but he's getting the hang of it now. Give Dad & Juliane a hug for me! Love you!
Becky,
Glad to hear you are back at home. Prayers go out for you every day. I hope that real soon we will see you walking into church. Just you being here is truely a mioracle and it means God has plans for you. Your story and recovery has been an inspiration to many. I know it hasn't been an easy time for you, but hang in there and know that there are many people pulling for you. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
Much love,
Karen Stegent
Welcome home!! Our prayers for your complete recovery continue. I know you are working hard in therapy...determination is one of your strengths.
Love,
De Lynn
Mrs. Bounds,
I'm glad to hear you are starting physical therapy soon. You are in my prayers always.

Becky,
You don't know me, but I had driven my own 2 teenagers to that same church activity in 2006. I've kept up with your progress over the past 2 years and have prayed for you. I'm am so encouraged by your (and your family's) strength and faith in God. I'm so happy you are home! My prayers for you are ongoing. Sincerely, Ruth
Becky,
This has been a long and bumpy road for you but every time I see you there is a big smile on your face. I can't imagine having to go through what you have. I know you will be stronger from all this. Hang in there and know that you are thought about and prayed for and though we don't have the pain you have we hurt for you having to deal with this.
Glad to hear you are home. I know you probably rest much better in your own house among your family.
Take care,
Debbie Ash
Hi, Aunt Becky! I am so glad you guys put up this blog. It's great to have more frequent updates on how you're doing. :) We are thinking about and praying for you daily. God is so much bigger than big. I am blessed by His greatness in your life and also by how many people have been touched and affected by this journey as well.
We are doing well in our new home in Arkansas. Jessica is getting so big - they do that, go figure. :) She is crawling (army style and starting more on her knees, too) and even using her potty. She started saying mama this week which I just love. :)
Tell everyone hello for us. Love ya bunches! :)

Dearest Becky and Dennis,
GOD is good! There is not much more that I can say for HE holds you in His Hand and He has Wonderful Plans for you.
Precious memories:
Dennis, a youngester in Louisiana, having fun with the other young folk at church and church activities - always with his mom, polite to the grownups and serious about GOD's Word. Going to college to be a CPA - it was a great undertaking and you did it.
Becky, a lovely young lady, married to our friend. The occasional visit to Ark-LA family over the years. Then a remarkable family weekend in Houston and I had the opportunity to spend some quality time visiting with Becky(during the games) for which I am most thankful. I am thankful that our visit armed me with a more personal connection to you. As I continue to pray for your complete healing, I can see us, in my mind's eye, sitting there on that gym floor melding our hope, dreams and concerns.
I love you both. May GOD heap His Most Awesome Blessings on you and your. HE is good.
Vicky aka MamaVick Morton
Happy Sabbath, Becky!!
Being home means that you are one step closer to being back at Church with your friends & family. Keep looking for me on Yahoo! :oD I've enjoyed our chats so much.
Your in my prayers.
Much love, Angela
I am so glad to hear you are home again, Becky! It sounds like you are facing some hard work, but you've always been a hard worker, so I think you'll get through it all just fine. When it gets tough, remember that you have lots of people praying for you and that God loves you and wants you to succeed. Can't wait to see you up & around at church and bunko - hope it's soon!
Love,
Karen
God must have something special in store for you! He wouldn't be leading you thru all this way toward full recovery for nothing. And you are such a strong, brave trooper ready for His will to be done. We are keeping you in our prayers!
Love, The Bergers
Hello, I very glad to hear of the GOOD progress. Always remember, I am sure your whole family does, "by His stripes we are healed".
One of the greatest things to happen to me was the Auto Accident I survived 10April1987.
The Owner/Driver of the car I was in during that single vehicle accident, died at the scene. He had lost control at a high rate of speed.
My injuries; both legs & most of my ribs broken, compressed lungs, perforated liver & spleen. And the "topping" was a Severe TBI that left me in a coma for 29 days.
I believe this is what it took for me to 'hear' God's calling over 10 years later when I completed my first reading of Mr. Armstrong's last book, "Mystery Of The Ages" in Oct. 1989. After that I read ALL I could find of Mr. Armstrong's work. God continued to work with me until I was finally Baptised 3/28/2007.
It seems that He is still working with me now, as my immediate goal is to attend ABC's first year-long program beginning this September 2008.
I have been, and continue, drawing Social Security Disability as my main source of income.
However, the State of Texas sponsored my earning a bachelor's degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in the Allied Science of Reahbilitation.
As yet, I have not gain any profit from that Knowledge, Skill, and Ability to serve others in that specialty.
I do work part-time at two different jobs. One of which is Wal-Mart. My manager has already told me that she would approve the transfer to work in either one of the Wal-Mart's close to campus in Cinncinatti.
Should I gain entry to ABC & Becky would desire and be able to attend,
rest assured I would be glad to help tutor as short-term memory and other challenges may be with her for some time - until God's complete healing!
I do have a van as I have had to use the wheelchair on occasion. Most of the time I am walking on my own.
It is my hope & prayer that God will heal Becky & family so she can find the joy from this experience, greater than I have from my own Traumatic Injuries. Also I pray for His help in me to finding a way to gain the needed funding for tuition & relocation.
May God Bless the Bounds Family,
Matthew
