Well, things got pretty crazy about 3:35 pm yesterday. I got a call from the case manager at Methodist telling me that Becky's surgeon had just informed her that Becky was supposed to have been discharged to go home the day before! Apparently nobody wrote down the order, given via the telephone, and gave it to Becky's nurse.
.
So, we had to rush and get Becky's belongings packed up and get out of the hospital room. By the time I drove across town and we packed Becky's stuff and left the hospital, it was nearly 11:00 pm. All this means, of course, that Becky doesn't get to go to Health South. She had progressed to a point beyond the presumed need for inpatient rehab, so she is to go straight into outpatient physical therapy. Her first appointment is tomorrow.
The transition from hospital to home is always tiring for Becky and she slept much of today. Now, though, she's out with Cameron; finally getting some good time with him.
Becky is very stiff and quite sore. She has a tremendous amount of work to do and it's going to be difficult at best. The battle goes on!
Thanks again to all who pray for Becky and give encouragement. It helps more than you may know.
Love to all,
Dennis Bounds
P.S. Congratulations to our oldest daughter, Adriane, and to our son, Cameron. They both just got their grades from this semester of college. They both got all A's!!!!

Becky,
Time is such an interesting concept. And you have lost some of your precious liberty, more than 24hours of it.
However, your current physiological mess restricts your free time to the point that you're dependent upon the deeds of others. And others make mistakes, so that an extra day of your life was left in that hospital.
But then again, maybe God saw to it that the orders for your release weren't processed b/c He knew you needed an extra day of peace and quiet. Peace and quiet can excite your spirit, especially when pondering your eternal attachment to Christ...and I know you did that.
So maybe you didn't lose any time. Maybe they're not processing your release was actually an order from heaven.
Maybe it was really a relationship building time, b/c God was defintiely pondering you.
Our prayers for you and your family continue . . .

Becky,
So glad to hear that the surgery went well and that you are home and doing so well. I am looking forward to the day that you will WALK into church! God has certainly answered a lot of prayers on your behalf and will continue to do so. Keep on working and you will soon be with us again.
Take care and God bless
Karen Stegent
Becky,
Sorry to hear about your therapy setback. You are such a determined lady that I'm sure this will only be a bump in the road for you. We're praying for you as you go through this painful but necessary process.

Thank you for such nice comments... they have made my morning and given me strength I need. (I've got a sinus headache and feel like being a bum today). Love ya lots, Becky
Becky,
Just thought I'd drop in again tonight.
The physio-mental (not sure if that's a word) discouragement you must be experiencing is not obvious, or even noticeable. I say that b/c the energy of your most recent post gives no evidence of your condition.
So if the fruits of the spirit in Gal. 5:22 had sub-headings, there's one you could probably lay claim to having plenty of...joyful-exasperation.
Looking forward to seeing your brilliancy tomorrow Becky...
Onward,
Josh, Melissa & Emma
